Did you know? November is Native Heritage Month!

Various Native American tribes of the Americas had a planting technique where they would plant maize (corn), beans, and winter squash crops close to each other. The corn provides the structure for the beans to climb, the beans give nitrogen to the soil, and the squash spreads on the ground to prevent weeds from growing. These original companion crops were known as the “Three Sisters”.
